Wellbeing classes - online
The wellbeing classes are generously funded by the South Yorkshire's Community Foundation.
Social activities
Mindfulness
Jane Mitchell of MindBodyFeeling, who has run much appreciated mindfulness sessions for our Group in the past, is offering a series of mindfulness sessions which will include various meditations and teaching. The sessions will be gently paced with time for processing and reflecting. In the first block (before Christmas) we will focus on breathing and body meditations.
Qigong
This course is an introduction to Qigong and an appraising of exercises learnt by those who have attended before. There will be some new exercises.
This form of movement brings exercises that are gentle and invigorating, that will help the body and mind relax, the muscles let go and build strength while opening the lungs and improve health.
Forest Bathing
Online and in-person sessions over Summer to connect with nature.
No swimsuit needed to do forest bathing! These sessions focus on using the senses to connect with nature in a deeper way, involving nature mindfulness and circle sharing.
In-person meet-ups
Our members are organising drop-ins around the region in cafés, parks or various locations. Details are shared in our members-only communications such as our quarterly magazine.

The SMEFG team is also organising a series of Picnic in the Park during the months of (hopefully) nice weather. Open to everyone. See our calendar for more info.
Parlons français !
Venez parler français avec nous !
Games, discussions, songs, short videos... Everything you need to have a good time and practice your French.
Suitable for levels intermediate to advanced.
1st Thursday of the month at 4pm.
Digital inclusion
We have scheduled one-on-one support sessions in our office on Fridays to help our members with getting online and accessing information, online activities on Zoom and any other resources. These can be done on a personal device or on the office’s computer.
Singing

Relax, Breathe, Sing.

An opportunity to connect with others and sing - even if we are 'together, apart'. No need to read music as all songs will be taught by ear and you can adapt the level of new learning to suit your mood and energy. There will be songs for many moods and everyone is welcome - no need to think of yourself as 'a singer'.
"Lifted my mood, improved my breathing, reduced loneliness, and helped me develop a new skill" - Frank
