Could you reach out to harder to reach communities in Sheffield and develop sustainable links with local organisations?

Could you communicate on our services and engage our membership in tailored activities?

New funding granted by Sheffield City Council is going to help us reach out to harder to reach communities, develop stronger links with local organisations, communicate more effectively and increase engagement from existing and new members in tailored activities.

The outreach work (10 hours/week) aims at:

  • Reaching out to harder to reach communities in Sheffield (BAMER communities, the ones not online, housebound, bedbound, or isolated in other ways).

  • Reaching out to people newly diagnosed with ME/CFS after getting covid, and to people with long covid experiencing similar symptoms in Sheffield. BAMER communities have been disproportionately affected by covid and so have a high incidence of people with long covid.

The engagement work (15 hours/week) aims at:

  • Providing excellent communication to our members and the wider public about the Group’s activities, the illnesses and their impact, and the services available locally.

  • Ensuring our services are as inclusive as possible to our community’s specific needs, and maximise people’s engagement in our activities and service design.

Applications are sought from candidates willing to take on either or both of the outreach and engagement work. We’re looking for applicants with excellent verbal and written communication skills, professional behaviour, IT literacy, and with excellent time management and organisation skills.

Please read carefully the job description and person specification for full details.

Would you like to join our team? Or do you know someone who would?

To apply: Send your CV along with a supporting statement (maximum 2 sides of A4, ensuring you address the requirements in the person specification) to applications@sheffieldmegroup.co.uk
